The Lossiemouth Tenant Forum was formed in 1999 and constituted in 2002. The forum is consulted by the council on matters which affect the tenants in Lossiemouth and in Moray as a whole and by the Scottish Government on matters which affect tenants throughout Scotland. Members of the forum sit on the Moray Tenants Core Group which deals with moray wide matters which affect tenants, the Moray Council housing Sub Committee. The Region Two Tenants Committee which covers Moray, Aberdeen City, Aberdeenshire, Angus, Orkney and Shetland. The Tenants Regulation Advisory Group and the Inspection Advisory Group which are Scottish Government working groups to advise on Scotland-wide tenant matters. The forum receives an annual grant from the Moray Council to cover the costs of running the forum and an annual environmental grant of approximately £15,000. This grant is to be used to enhance the environment of tenants or to improve their facilities. In most years it has been spent upgrading front gardens by erecting fences and installing security lights. All ideas from tenants are considered. The Lossiemouth Tenants Forum meets on the second Tuesday of every month Lossiemouth Town Hall. Any tenant is welcome to attend these meetings.
