Lossiemouth Tenants forum have not met over recent months following the sad death of  their Chairperson Mr Charles French.

Charles was a champion for Tenant Participation, and he was well known not only here in Moray but throughout Scotland. He was very passionate about increasing and protecting tenants rights and firmly believed that tenants should have a say in the delivery of their housing services. In the period leading up to his untimely passing he had been working on a project to have a new play-park put in place for the children of Lossiemouth, a project which his fellow forum members are keen to see brought to fruition.

However the forum are actively seeking new members not only to help with this project but to tackle other issues which affect tenants in the Lossiemouth area. A meeting has been arranged for Tuesday 12th January in the Seaview Suite at Lossiemouth Town Hall and all Moray Council Tenants living in Lossiemouth are urged to attend.  This meeting will also be open to other residents of the town should they wish to attend.

Tenants are reminded that with the onset of colder weather please be aware of  frozen water pipes, if you are planning to go away over the winter period please turn off the water and drain the system leaving taps in the on position. Moray Council will preform this FREE of charge for Tenants who request this service. If your time away is to be short you could leave your heating on at  a low  setting, but ideally the previous option would be safer.

You are asked to note that between 21st December 2009 and 18th January 2010 the refuse collections will revert to a Green bin only service. There will be no uplift on Friday 25th December or Friday 1st January alternative collections will be made on Saturday 26th December and Saturday 2nd January, these collections maybe slightly earlier than usual so please have your bins out by 07.30am excess waste will not be uplifted.

Wishing you a merry Christmas and a Happy New Year in 2010
